Emma Grater - Simply Grater Events & Design

Hello there,

I’m Emma Grater, a wife, a sister, a friend, and a mother to three beautiful girls (with larger than life personalities). I’m a fan of road trips- especially out west, chai tea, Sunday brunches and random dance parties in my kitchen or the shoe section at Target. I live for making others smile and never pass up the chance to help those in need.

I grew up in a Puerto Rican household, as one of five siblings, and as you can imagine, our house was never very quiet. It didn’t seem to matter if it was a special occasion or not, our house was always filled with family or friends which meant lots of love, laughter and good eats.

Now as an adult, it brings me so much joy to open up my home like my parents did and fill it with the same love and laughter. I love how happy everyone is when they come together and enjoy great food and great company. That is why I decided to create Simply Grater Events.

I believe life should be celebrated any chance we get and as an event designer my focus is on the overall theme and style of each event. Transforming spaces and pulling together all the elements to ensure that everything flows and looks cohesive and that your personal style shines through.

I’m a stickler for the details but I also believe it’s important to focus on the elements that truly matter the most such as delicious food and drinks in a beautiful yet fun setting while jamming out to great music and having meaningful conversations with friends and family.

I find that it’s important that we reduce and repurpose things in everyday life but even more so when it comes to special occasions. That is why my focus is on creating more with less, by focusing on quality versus quantity. Focusing on the elements that are the most important to you and the ones that your guests will remember and appreciate for years to come.

While I’ve never watched a single episode of Mad Men, I am quite fond of John Hamm and this quote by his character Don Draper -

“Make it simple, but significant.”

I look forward to working with you and creating an event that celebrates life and embraces your individual style.
